The theory behind a Change of Tenancy (COT) is simple — alert the existing suppliers of electricity, gas and water that the responsibility for paying the bill is changing by forwarding the new bill payers name and address, the closing meter reads and requesting a final bill
The reality can be quite different due to the efficiencies (or otherwise) of some utility suppliers as one of our clients discovered when several years after carrying out a COT they were alerted to the fact that they were still responsible for 12 units…with ever mounting bills and a trail of debt collectors.

Argent Partnership have developed turn-key solution to the COT process which reduces the clients activity and responsibility to just two actions: confirming the new owner/tenant and providing a funds transfer for final bills which are sent to our office and validated (or not) and settled by Argent directly. (With remittances sent to the supplier and the client.)
